AOL Web-mail
AOL has launched a free Web-mail service competing with Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. Spam filters, anti-virus protection, and 2GB of memory are some of the free features. E-mail address will be followed by “@aim.com”. However this is a market that Google has had a tough time breaking into and I don’t foresee AOL doing any better.

Netscape 8.0
Netscape Browser v8.0 has been released today. It’s been years since Netscape was relevant, but my understanding is that this browser will pose some competition for Mozilla’s Firefox and Apple’s Safari.

StumbleUpon
Found a great extension for Firefox (My Favorite Browser). It’s called Stumble Upon, and it allows you to randomly visit websites by clicking on a button installed in your Firefox browser. Great for rainy sundays.
iPod as external hd
Reformatted my iPod so I could use it as an external hardrive at work. Works great! I’m a little disappointed since I went to my local Apple Store and inquired about doing so and the guy I spoke with said it wouldn’t work. He must have been the new guy?
