I originally installed Ubuntu but decided to switch to Xubuntu. Xubuntu comes with Xfce, which is a stable, light and configurable desktop environment and I decided it would probaly be a better choice for an older machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Follow these directions and you should be good to go&#8230;. <a href=\"https:\/\/ubuntu.com\/tutorials\/create-a-usb-stick-on-macos#1-overview\">https:\/\/ubuntu.com\/tutorials\/create-a-usb-stick-on-macos#1-overview<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This laptop that I picked up for $25 is scorchingly fast with Linux. I now have a fully supported OS with security updates. I can throw this in my backpack and take it with me anywhere I go and not worry about it.
